Cub-o-Ree at Old Mine Park
Cub-o-Ree at Old Mine Park
There will be 2 sessions to choose from this year: morning and afternoon. Scouts may only attend one session. Attendance is limited to 75 scouts per session, and we expect this event to sell out. We are also limiting admission this year to scouts Tigers – Arrow of Light to allow more space for veteran scouts as well to alleviate.
The first session will run from 9:00 AM – 12:45 PM and the second session run from 1:15 PM – 5:00 PM.
We have included all the Cub Scout shooting sport events to maximize the fun. Sessions at the event include:
BB Guns
Archery
Slingshots
Participants will be split into dens and rotate to the different stations together throughout the day. Scouts from the same pack will be grouped together but may be grouped with other units as well. Only part of a den will be allowed on the shooting ranges at a time, but there will be fun activities for scouts while not on the range. The schedule of events for the day can be seen below.

The Fairfield Audubon hosts a great session each fall to allow Cub Scouts to quickly achieve one of their badge requirements (about a 1 hour commitment is all).
This is open for Tiger (1st grade), Wolf (2nd grade), Bear (3rd grade), and Webelos (4th grade).
This requires self registration and typically fills up quickly, so scroll down on the page linked below for more info and click the registration link for the appropriate Scout level. If your Scout attends and completes the course, please email us so we can award the proper achievement belt loop.

Cub Scout Safari at Hoyt
In the heart of Hoyt Scout Reservation, eager Cub Scouts will gather, their faces alive with excitement and anticipation to embark on a safari adventure. Led by their leaders and accompanied by their families, they will set out on a journey to explore, learn, and grow together.
Cub Scouts can earn Adventures that are specific to their grade, rank along with fun activities and optional overnight Pack Family Camping.
